Remarks

The toLowerCase method has no effect on nonalphabetic characters.

The following example demonstrates the effects of the toLowerCase method:

var strVariable = "This is a STRING object";
strVariable = strVariable.toLowerCase( );

The value of strVariable after the last statement is:

this is a string object
