Plate.OuterAperture Property
Plate.OuterAperture (read-write, Double)
[advanced] The diameter (arcseconds) of the outer aperture for star detection (default = 0 for automatic)
Syntax
Plate.OuterAperture [= Double]
The property syntax has these parts:
Part |
Description |
Value (Double) |
[advanced] The diameter (arcseconds) of the outer aperture for star detection (default = 0 for automatic) |
Remarks
This is an advanced property. In most cases, you will not need to change this value, the default will work. If you are having trouble getting plate solving to work, first verify the accuracy of ArcsecPerPixelHoriz and ArcsecPerPixelVert.
The star detector uses aperture photometric techniques to detect and locate stars in the image. This is the outer circle used in the algorithm. The star pixels should not fall within the annular region between the outside edge of the inner crcle (InnerAperture) and the edge of this circle. If this property and the InnerAperture property are set to 0, PinPoint selects the aperture sizes automatically.
Legal values range include 0 (default/auto), and values that translate to a range of 1 to 30 pixels calculated using the plate scales).
