Some video sources scan twice, with even and odd lines being imaged at slightly different times. If there is rapid image motion, perhaps due to atmospheric seeing, the image shows jagged edges. This can be removed, and the overall resolution improved, by splitting the image in two using the Deinterlace command. The resulting even and odd field images are each interpolated to replace the missing pixels.
